Red Dress Day 2012
Each year UVA Medical Center, Morrison, and Club Red partner to celebrate National Heart Health Awareness on Red Dress Day. We planned a heart healthy menu for the action station in the cafteria, and RDs and dietetic interns provided nutrition education to customers. Belk and JC Penney donated formal red dresses to help decorate the cafeteria for the event.

National Nutrition Month 2012
March is National Nutrition Month! To celebrate, we have weekly displays in the cafeteria breezeway with each week having a different subject based on the theme for the month from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This is an opportunity to provide nutrition education to staff and customers, and participants could answer weekly quizzes on the topic to win a nutrition-related prize.

Red Dress Day 2013
We celebrated National Wear Red Day and Red Dress Day again this year with a wonderful Salmon Mediterranean Pasta dish served in the cafeteria and education for staff and customers on heart healthy nutrition by registered dietitians and dietetic interns.
National Nutrition Month 2013
This year we used Morrison's National Nutrition Month theme "Taste Your Way to Wellness". With this display we educated staff and visitors about incorporating healthy fats into their diet. Our chefs made a delicious guacamole to encourage intake of the monounsaturated fats in the avocadoes.
